Osteopathic Physician Check-up June 14, 2018

So sorry everyone for such a late post. Volunteering for my church for what seems like full time and busy mom life got to me. I am here to update on a few things that has happened since my last post. Bear with me as I try to juggle and unload my thoughts and notes I have taken along this journey. 👌

In the middle of May I attended an info class that was held at Ashburn Children's Dentistry. Along with Dr. Lynda Dean-Duru, there was a guest speaker Dr. Traci Jones; Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine. I learned a lot in this class; for example some of the results in mouth breathing vs. nose breathing (which I stated in my previous blog post).  As well as the benefits of proper nutrition.  Both Dr. Lynda and Dr. Traci work together for the overall health benefit of the kids.

On June 14th Danyelle met with Dr. Traci for the first time. Dr. Traci emailed me a Symptom Survey Questionnaire/Checklist to fill out before her appointment. With the help from this list Dr. Traci was able to talk with me and use that info-as well as information she got when she saw Danyelle-to determine which vitamins and minerals she was deficient of and prescribe Danyelle natural supplements. I am pretty sure my child is just about the pickiest eater ever; if not then she definitely ties for first place-with just about every child in America 😄. Using the information she gathered she was able to determine that Danyelle is low on minerals, so she prescribed her Naturally Bound Minerals to help her fall asleep at night.  She has ADD/ADHD combined so she can be quite restless. She wanted Danyelle to take Restore; a gut health supplement used to ward off sugar cravings and for attention. Both of these she is supposed to take 3x a day. Over the summer I was able to keep up with it pretty well, however I also failed sometimes. Being a parent it's bound to happen.  I learned to shrug off my mistakes and try to remember better the next day. Now that school is back in session, she gets them once a day😞. As well as those supplements, Dr. Traci suggested Danyelle take Cod liver oil-which is good for brain development. (Keeping it honest; I have not made her take cod liver oil-yet!)

In just 2 short months (since I started the supplements) I have seen great improvements in her attitude. Danyelle was one of those children who had a bad attitude about everything. She wasn't the most affectionate either. I have noticed in the last month or so, she willingly gives me hugs just about everyday. How could a mother NOT notice that? Don't get me wrong and translate this as her being the perfect child who did a complete 180, No way! She no doubt still has her moments. She just went from a 95% brat rate, to 75%. I will love her regardless, I just wanted to point out what just a small change can do.

Hopefully I will be back sooner rather than later to talk about her getting her Myobrace appliance in. She got it yesterday 9/10. I want to give it a little bit before posting my next blog because I want to be able to give you an update about how things are going with her improvement and cooperation with it. So far so Good! See you Next time!!👀✋😎
