Hey all! I know its been quite some time since my last blog post and I apologize for that. To be honest I was getting discouraged because getting my daughter to cooperate and do her myo-brace exercises and wear her myo-brace appliance at all was a struggle. She fought me tooth and nail about wearing her appliance. It was uncomfortable for her. She couldn't sit still and stay quiet long enough; the appliance was always in and out of her mouth. She also didn't like to do her breathing exercises. ( according to her those 2 minutes a day were better spent playing with friends ) Some of you may know me and my family, most of you reading this however do not. My daughter has been struggling in school for the past 2 years . She was diagnosed in 2nd grade with ADHD/ADD combined. I chose not to go the medicine route since I personally feel as though doctors sometimes push things like a bandaid. I do not judge those who are on medication. This post is about me and my decisions as my chi

So sorry everyone for such a late post. Volunteering for my church for what seems like full time and busy mom life got to me. I am here to update on a few things that has happened since my last post. Bear with me as I try to juggle and unload my thoughts and notes I have taken along this journey. 👌 In the middle of May I attended an info class that was held at Ashburn Children's Dentistry. I learned a lot in this class; for example some of the results in mouth breathing vs. nose breathing (which I stated in my previous blog post).  As well as the benefits of proper nutrition.  Both Dr. Lynda and Dr. Traci work together for the overall health benefit of the kids. On June 14th Danyelle met with Dr. Traci for the first time. Dr. Traci emailed me a Symptom Survey Questionnaire/Checklist to fill out before her appointment. With the help from this list Dr. Traci was able to

Well, Today we started a new chapter. My 9 year old has qualified for a new therapy called myofunctional therapy. Prior to this (these first 9 years of her life) she has had these regular habits or what her dentist now would call symptoms from an improper jaw size. Meaning her mouth and jaw are too small and she has certain results because of it. These certain symptoms/results are as follows: overcrowding of her teeth; snoring; frequent ear infections; can't sit still for nothing-ADHD; little focus and short attention span-ADD; and acid reflux. The signs of acid reflux were noticed in her teeth when we became patients of Dr. Lynda. No other dentists had ever brought this to our attention before. I am thankful that this was brought to my attention. After I was given this news, I made an appointment with her Primary Care Physician who gave us the referral to see a gastroenterologist, who did an endoscopic procedure. In doing so, found a bacterial infection called H-pylori, which pre
